Refund policy

1. Before your site goes live

You can cancel for a full refund at any point before we publish your website. That includes after you have seen the first preview and decided the design is not for you.

You have 14 days from the day you ordered as your statutory right, and in practice right up to the moment we publish. If we have started work at your request and you cancel within those 14 days, we may keep a proportionate amount for the work already done — but if you cancel because the preview is not what you expected, we refund in full.

2. After your site is published

The year's fee is not refundable. You can still:

• cancel the renewal at any time, and the site stays live until the end of the year you have paid for;
• ask for the site to be taken down at any time, and we will remove it within two working days.

3. If we get it wrong

Full refund, no argument, if:

• we do not publish your site within the timescale we agreed;
• the published site is materially different from what you approved;
• your site is unavailable for more than 48 hours in a month because of something on our side.

4. How to ask

Email kola@thesoftplace.co.uk with the business name and the date you ordered. You do not need to give a reason. We will confirm within two working days and refund to the original payment method within 14 days of the confirmation.

5. What this does not change

Your statutory rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are unaffected by anything in this policy. If this policy and the law disagree, the law wins.

6. Business customers

If you are buying for a business rather than as a consumer, the statutory 14-day cancellation right does not apply — but sections 1 to 3 above apply to you anyway, as a matter of how we choose to trade.
